Last night iconic Australian swimwear brand Jets celebrated 20 years of production with a private show filled with celebrities, fashionistas and Sydney’s who’s who and as the ultra fashionable guests made their way into the stunning 7th level of David Jones‘ womens store they were treated to a showcase of work that spans two decades. Featuring brand ambassador and Sydney “it girl” Jessica Gomes treated us to her designs as well as walked the runway with an array of looks that captured exactly what the brand stands for: chic, classy women who travel the globe and bathe in all 7 of the seas. The brands new look has seen a new wave of fans take notice but this show was all about showing us where they have come from and where they are going with a look at archived pieces from years gone by and a capsule look at their newest offerings, and with each look it was clear to see the development of the ages, technology and the uprising of womens power that the brand is known for proving it is a frontrunner when it comes to design and techniques.

Showcasing a range of black and white essentials alongside colourful reds, deep purples, blues and beige’s the then and now looks were styled to perfection with chic sunglasses, floppy hats, visors, sarongs and even sheer dresses so you could envision the wearer on a beach in St Tropez or Jamaica on holiday or poolside in Miami or Capri in between running a business and getting a tan. From conservative to showy the range offered a look for the modern woman no matter who they were in an effort to keep the range accessible and as those in attendance picked out each piece they wanted to see themselves in it was clear that the re-vamp of the brand was a wild success.

If you weren’t lucky enough to score an invite to the Jets 20 year show then don’t fret I have an exclusive look below some of my favourite pieces and looks from the night. The beautiful thing about this show is all the current pieces are now available to be purchased and you can do so right at the David Jones store itself. Take a look and see which pieces you’ll be wearing this summer and I’ll see you at the beach…
