Yesterday I had the pleasure of dressing two of the AFL’s biggest stars for their entrance looks at this years AFLX game. With both men being quite stylish in their daily lives I decided to play on that and make sure they looked as good as they normally did off the field with two unique takes on their fashion styles. After it’s inception last year the AFLX game has become known for it’s OTT extra-stylish entrances and so for this specific job I wanted to make sure that we not only looked stylish but I wanted to make sure they topped that list.
Firstly I had GWS midfielder and crowd favourite Lachie Whitfield who’s style is always a head-turner! After chatting with Lachie and deciding how he wanted to position himself we decided to emulate a look similar o that of NBA player and fashion icon LeBron James. Taking a stab at casual meets classic we teamed a white pair of chino shorts with a plain shirt and statement blazer by MJ Bale and elevated this with touches of excellence through his patterned tie, clear sunglasses by Pacifico Optical and street-chic shoes by Nike X Off White. Next I was trusted with Richmond icon and star footballer Alex Rance who’s reputation proceeds him. The ultra stylish and charismatic man has an iconic relationship with fashion so I decided to keep him as fashion-forward as possible and give him an updated Miami Vice look with a tailored double-breasted three piece MJ Balesuit in off white. Teamed with a pair of white Veja shoes and some back sunglasses, a pair of headphones and a skateboard, for that iconic entrance, the superstar was set to steal the show, and he certainly did just that!
If you are yet to see either of the looks from the day then don’t fret as I have you covered with a sneak-peak look below at some of my favourite moments from both boys in their AFLX gamely ensembles. After the success this year I can’t wait to see just what each of the boys will do next year, but until then you’ll have to stay tuned!
