Australian fashion elite celebrated last night as the iconic luxury British brand Burberry opened the doors to it’s new flagship store in the heart of Melbourne’s most fashionable location, Collins St’s “Paris end”. Boasting a truly breathtaking view the newly renovated two storied venue encompasses the prestige of the brand while paying homage to it’s vast heritage with a modern feeling, minimalistic and clean facade (decorated with seasonal artwork) that allows for the tailored, chic and highly sort after pieces to speak for themselves. While the store officially landed in Melbourne many years ago with it’s Chadstone location this edited look at a boutique showcases how far the multi-faceted brand has come and just where it is headed.
With over 300 guests in attendant the opening drew out lovers of fashion of all kinds, from infamous bloggers and journalists to actors, personalities and athletes all whom came adorned in their best wears to witness a milestone in the brands history. Treated to custom made cocktails and exquisitely prepared foods guests where able to experience the lifestyle to which the brand is accustomed itself to while taking in the live works of the November & December collections. Dripping is extravagance and truly immersed in art the party was only elevated by the live music supplied by DJ’s Gary Powell, Alys Hale, Isabelle Hellyer & Issy Beech who played while a freehand calligrapher customised limited edition pieces of the first seen Danny Sangra “Doodle Artwork” collection that were sold on the night.
If you weren’t lucky enough to be a part of the luxurious Burberry Melbourne launch night yourself then never fear as I have a first-look at the store for you below. If you can, head into the new boutique for yourself and see the brands newest apparel and accessories collections that feature new season laminated trench-coats, the giant reversible tote bag and British designer Danny Sangra’s collaboration pieces all alongside iconic vintage checked pieces that will show you just why the longstanding brand is at the top of the fashion food-chain.
