Yesterday I was lucky enough to be selected to dress actor Julian Maroun (from Netflix’s “Romper Stomper” & Foxtel’s “Fighting Season”) for his appearance at the 2018 AACTA awards held at Sydney’s Iconic “The Star” casino. Being a black tie event we wanted to make sure Julian was well dressed but keeping his fashion edge we decided to give him a bit of added colour so that he not only stays true to his style but also so he stands out. The newcomer has made a fairly big name for himself in this year with two breakout roles in two of the biggest networks in the Australian market and so we wanted to show people that not only is he a star on the screen but he also is a very fashionable man with a keen eye for style, so when planning his look we thought hard about how we could bring you a sense of his loud style while keeping in the tradition of wearing a suit.
We started with discussing the suit and instead of picking a traditional black suit or tux we decided to add a neutral blue into the mix to showcase his edginess and to accomodate his style. Opting for a tailored two piece from MJ Bale the suit was paired with a plain crisp white shirt and plain black brogue Florsheim shoes, nodding to tradition, while teaming it with white and blue patterned tie and pocket square added to the edginess of the look. Once deciding on the finishing touches and tailoring was complete we added a mastered watch by Fossil to finish the look with some sophisticated elegnce.
