Taking the fashion to the streets, quite literally, this seasons Melbourne Fashion Week street runways showcased some of the country’s biggest known brands in some of the cities most uniquely noted laneways. Tatersalls Laneway, Union Place, District 9 & Union Lane played home to the fabulously produced street shows and as guests were treated to a look at the fashion, in the streets it’s soon to be owners call home, we were also offered an experience to see the designers work play alongside one of the world’s most in-tune arts cities giving us art moments with picturesque street-styled backdrops you can’t get anywhere else in the world.
Seasoned brands Levi Strauss & Co, Forever New, Witchery, Peter Jackson and Cue joined forced with emerging brands like A.BCH, Jude, Rbcca Kstr, Kholo, Remuse, Keegan and Beekeeper Parade to showcase their newest seasons works. Street styled looks walked alongside elegantly styled couture in an eclectic mix of fashion that truly represented the city it was showing in. Cross-body bags, boots and a range of sunglasses adorned models as they dressed in the finery and showcased a pastel hued, mixed print range of collections that we will be sure to be seeing and wearing all season long.
If you didn’t happen to be part of the magic that was this season’s Melbourne Fashion Week Street Rrunways then you missed out on shows that were truly art inspired and unlike anything else on the fashion week calendar but never fret I have you covered with a look at my favourite looks, pieces and moments from the four shows that made up this style of runway this season. Take a look at MFW’s website or the individual brands for more.
